Expansion of Escola Catalunya in Sant Cugat

Competition for the expansion of the Escola Catalunya, in Sant Cugat, from 29 industrialized concrete and steel modules. Contest carried out in collaboration with Compact Habit / Constructora d’Aro.

The project adapts a new access on the hinge between the two volumes that are maclen, offering a new porch that reinforces the entrance and connects with the new space of external relationship urbanized to the north, through a large vestibule.

Maintaining the organization of the plant collected in the preliminary project, the size of the classrooms is adapted according to the proportions dictated by the criteria of Education (6.25 x 8.50m).

The outer lining is made of sandwitx panel with an aluminium finish with a minimum relief with watertight joints between them and modulated with respect to the openings to facilitate their placement. On the other hand, the socket is proposed with a plate of ceramic pieces to achieve a visual continuity in terms of materiality with the existing building with which it connects.
