14 Housing Units on Roger Street, Barcelona

A 14-unit multi-family building located on Roger Street in Barcelona. The project is based on criteria of constructive rationality and typological clarity, seeking to optimise the buildable area and improve the living conditions typical of collective housing in a dense urban context.

The dwellings are organised around a regular structure that favours efficient floor plans, with a clear separation between day and night areas, and special attention to natural lighting and cross ventilation. The relationship with the exterior is reinforced through a permeable façade with linear terraces, understood as extensions of the domestic space and as fundamental elements for improving environmental comfort.

The façade is conceived as an active system using movable blinds that allow the entry of light, sunlight and privacy to be modulated, responding to the different orientations and everyday use of the dwellings. This feature adds depth, variation and a changing image to the building, moving it away from a static reading and reinforcing its contemporary character.
